Why I support the UN move to withdraw support to Congolese Army.

One thing that has always bothered me in the Democratic Republic of Congo is the fact that the Congolese Army is Omni present in urban areas where they are most notorious in extorting and intimidating instead of going to fight insurgents and foreign rebels operating freely on Congolese soil.
The reason why I support the withdrawal of any support to the FARDC is because it’s first of all a army without integrity, moral and respect for the civilian population. This army also incorporates without remorse individuals accused of mass murder and wanted by the International Criminal Court. To even paint blacker its reputation, the FARDC is finger pointed for the killings of journalists and Human Rights activists.  Availing any kind of help to the FARDC means that the United Nations through MONUC consent to everything that this army does....(more)
