The Kenyan national team, Harambee Stars lost their opening world Cup qualifiers against les Aigles de Carthage last sarturday 28 march at the Coca Cola Stadium in Nairobi.
Under the supervision of new German coach Antoine Hey. The team showed good tactical skills even though a few mistakes engineered their defeat . The German Coach has been widely criticised for his decision to recall retired and former captain, Musa Otieno in the squad. The latter did not disapoint on the pitch.
Tunisian got their way into the Kenyan net just five minutes in the game. The goal opening author was none other than Jamal. The Kenyan side seemed not to adapt to maghrebine tactics.
It was until the second half that Antoine Hey's side showed some agressiveness. They missed some good occasions to score until the Czech republic based Patrick Oboya was brought in the pitch . Oboya sprinted with a counter attack ball and delivered it to Dennis Oliech who put the ball in the net without much difficulties.
Kenyans players left their zeal blind them when Former captain Robert Mambo lost an easy ball to ingenious tunisian strikers who beat the Kenyan golakeeper Noah Ayuku easily.
Kenyan lost 2-1. Reactions in Nairobi streets are mixed. Some football fan even asking the resignation of the newly appointed much who has played his first competitive game.
Kenya trails its group, Tunisia is in top position followed by Nigeria then Mozambic.
Harambee Stars next assignement will be in Abuja Nigeria.
