D.R. Congo's Leopards to face Qatar

Democratic Republic of Congo football national team, the Leopards might have not secured a place for the first World Cup on African soil but it’s still on the map. The leopards under the management of Patrick Neveu are doing all they can to prove that they a football force to reckon with. They are scheduled to face in an international friendly the Qatari national team in Paris –France- on the 14th of October 2009.

Leopards’ players drawn from the D.R. Congo’s giant, Tout Puissant Mazembe popularly known as TP Mazembe will not be part of the Team that will face Qatar. They will be held for their club dual against El Hilal of Egypt in count of the African Champions League semi finals. Mazembe will play away in Egypt on October 4th and rematch home on the 18th of October this year.

Tough the leopards will have to play without the like of goalkeeper Kidiaba and forward Tresor Mabi Mputu, the national Team coach, Patrick Neveu managed to get in camp the Congolese heavyweight Tresor Lualua together with experienced Mbayo Kibemba and Ilunga Herita who are real moral booster for young players aligned.

The presence of Mbokani who is in a contender for the top scorer position in the Belgian league for Standard Liège and Matumona Zola who also plays in Belgium will give Patrick Neveu a striking advantage against the Qatari eleven.
