In Dar es Salaam Tanzania in the course of the week covering September 25 to 29, members of the board of directors of the Central Corridor Transit Transport Facilitation Agency, CCTTFA, met to examine a strategic initiative for potential growth of CCTTFA.
During the meeting around the body’s Executive Secretary, Advocate Flory Okandju Okonge, the members of the steering committee examined the application for membership of Zambia and Malawi within the organization of central corridor states. The two countries depend on the port of Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania for their international trade and exchange operations. Their membership will increase the number of countries to 7.
On Thursday, September 21, the consultant CPCR Zutari recruited to carry out the feasibility studies of the standard gauge railway project which should go from Tanzania to the DRC via Burundi presented on Thursday, September 21 his first report to the steering committee of the DRC, Burundi in the presence of the permanent secretary of the central corridor for his approval.
Roger TEBIASU, coordinator of the regional program monitoring support unit for transport corridor activities within the Ministry of Transport, Communication Routes and Opening Up, informed us that the presentation of this report was held by videoconference.
